B-Phot researcher Fabian Duerr receives the 2012 Michael Kidger Memorial Scholarship Award

B-PHOT researcher Fabian Duerr receives the 2012 Michael Kidger Memorial Scholarship Award for his work on free-form optics design where he investigates and develops novel direct design methods. Fabian is currently applying his new design methods to concentrating photovoltaics, which is the topic of his PhD work.  The prestigious Michael Kidger Memorial Scholarship Award was created to recognize persons with outstanding talents in optical design during the very early phases of their career.  It was first established in 1998 to honour Michael Kidger, a well-respected teacher and member of the photonics technical community.
