In the program I had the opportunity to meet, and work together with, international students from all over the world, making new friends and extending my teamworking skills.

Research Internship @ B-PHOT

The B-PHOT team offers summer research internship opportunities to qualified Master students considering a career in optics and photonics. Interns undertake short projects or provide help on projects already in progress, as defined by the group leader with whom they work. These positions are open to students seeking summer work or a work placement in a research lab, or recent graduates looking for a short-term work opportunity. Intern applicants with strong academic achievement in fields such as Photonics, Optics or Physics are preferred. Internships may be paid, unpaid, for-credit, not-for-credit, part-time, or full-time depending on various circumstances.

The topic of your internship can be situated in different research area's :

How to apply ?

Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis, but should be submitted 5 months prior to start of the internship. The application should be send to internship@b-phot.org .

The principal components of an application are:

  • Basic personal information (CV)
  • Information on your skills and experience
  • List of research groups you wish to prioritise for your application
  • Timing information: For example, are you interested in a summer internship? Do you want to work part-time? What dates are you available? How many weeks or months would you ideally like to work at the Lab for? Is the timing of your internship fixed by a degree programme? When will you no longer be available? This information is very important since applications are accepted on an ongoing basis; sometimes project needs are not recognized for several months after an application has been received, and we need to know when you are longer available.
  • Available funding: Mention if you have funding for housing and living expenses
