B-PHOT's contribution on "Mould insert fabrication of a single-mode fiber connector alignment structure optimized by justified partial metallization", in collaboration with the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology and CommScope (formerly TE Connectivity) is among the selected papers and presents the electroplating of a micro-mechanical component prototyped through Deep Proton Writing aiming at low-cost replication of this component using hot embossing.
The micro-mechanical component is aimed at large-scale deployment of field-installable optical fiber connectors for fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) networks.
The chosen articles were identified by their team of expert referees and the journal's Editorial Board as some of the highest-quality papers that were published in 2015 across all areas of microscale research that JMM presents.
