On November 18, 2013 more than 650 students from secondary school, accompanied by their physics teachers, attended the fascinating photonics science show organized by B-Phot.
During this interactive show B-PHOT researchers introduced these students to the basic of optics and photonics and showed them how photonics technologies have permeated their everyday life. B-PHOT researchers showcased a.o. the working principle of LCD displays, how micro-lenses enable 3D television, how fluorescence plays an important role in security and safety, how solar concentrates work, how information travels on the optical fiber data highways and many more.
During the show the students participated in the experiments on-stage.
