Fabian Duerr receives Best Student Paper Award at Photonics Europe 2012

Fabian Duerr, PhD student at the Brussels Photonics Team B-PHOT, received the Best Student Paper Award of the “Optical Modelling and Design Conference” on Tuesday 17 April at SPIE Photonics Europe 2012, the largest European symposium on photonics. He received this award for his paper entitled "Perfect imaging of three object points with only two analytic lens surfaces in two dimensions". The PhD work of Fabian is in the domain of concentrating photovoltaics where he investigates and develops novel direct design methods for free-form optics. SPIE student awards acknowledge excellence in oral and poster student paper presentations and are designed to encourage the next generation top researchers.
