Lawrence Bogaert received award of "Best Innovation by an Individual Researcher"

Ir. Lawrence Bogaert of the Brussels Photonics Team (B-PHOT) was nominated first runner-up for the “Best Innovation by an Individual Researcher” award during the International Symposium “SPIE Photonics Europe 2010” hosted in Brussels. He presented a prototype 3-D projection system at the “European Photonics Innovation Village” called ISIS3D . ISIS3D stands for Image Steering Integrated Screen for 3D viewing and enables look around 3-D vision without special eyeglasses. The jury chaired by Ronan Burgess of the European Commission offered these comments “Lawrence Bogaert has achieved more progress in this work than many big companies working in the same area”. The Innovation Village showcased 21 photonics systems with contesters from 12 countries. Lawrence Bogaert is currently working towards the PhD degree in the field of 3-D visualization.
