Collaborative research between B-Phot & the archaeological world highlighted in this month’s VUB newsletter.
Dutch article
In this article Prof. Karin Nys from the archaeological department of the VUB (MARI) highlights the importance of using analytical techniques to study ancient materials. ‘Optical spectroscopy allows the investigation of precious and delicate ancient glasses in a fast and non-destructive way’, she says. This multi-disciplinary collaborative work between MARI & B-Phot is performed in the framework of different types of projects (VUB-HOA15, VUB-IOF-POC & EU-FP7-Marie Curie) she further explains, where each project targets a certain aspect of the topic (fundamental research, valorization and training activities).
