Abstract Excitation functions of the reactions Ir-nat(d,xn)Pt-188,Pt-189,Pt-191,Pt-193m and Ir-nat(d,x)Ir-189,Ir-190g,Ir-192g,Ir-194g,Ir-194m2 were measured up to 40 MeV using the stacked foil technique. No earlier cross sections were found in the literature. The measured experimental data were analyzed and compared to theoretical calculations based on the model code ALICE-IPPE.
