B-Phot is involved in a lot of research projects. In this section you'll find more information on these projects.

• Structural Funding

  Methusalem : Flemish programme with ad personam awarded long-term and structural excellence financing, through which scientific talent can be retained more effectively. The programme is funded by the Flemish Government and is meant for experienced researchers with an international recognition.

• EU projects
  

  B-Phot has been involved in Sixth framework programme (FP6) projects and is also very active in the Seventh framework programme with several european projects.

• IOF projects

  The IOF allow every university to pursue a policy of its own geared to building a portfolio of potential application-oriented knowledge that can be used for economic purposes, in the continuum between strategic basic research and technological innovation, together with the attendant property rights, in the domains in which the university has acquired high-quality potential and/or wishes to assume a leading position.

• GOA projects

  GOA = 'geconcerteerde onderzoeksactie', 'Concerted Research Actions' . A GOA project is a project for a research group with an excellent research value provable by publications and other indicators of scientific quality.

  Horizontal Research Action ( HOA) to support multi-disciplinary research projects.

• FWO projects
  

  FWO: Research Foundation Flanders. Some of the goals of FWO are focused on:

  • the support of young researchers at the start of their academic career;
  • the promotion of research by supplying personnel, equipment and consumables for top priority research proposals.
• IWT projects
  

  IWT is the government agency for Innovation by Science and Technology. IWT helps Flemish companies and research centres in realizing their research and development projects. They offer them financial funding, advice and a network of potential partners in Flanders and abroad.
