FWO projects

FWO : Research Foundation Flanders. Some of the goals of FWO are focused on:

• the support of young researchers at the start of their academic career;
• the promotion of research by supplying personnel, equipment and consumables for top priority research proposals.

Current Projects

• Compact LCOS projection displays for high-quality 3D images with high spatial and angular resolution.

  With this project, the research teams the Brussels Photonics Team ( B-Phot) at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel and TFCG Microsystems Lab at Ghent University are trying to make an important contribution to the development of compact multiview systems

• Embedding of optical and opto-electronic components in printed circuit boards.
• Experimental demonstration of lasing action and intrinsic CARS-based heat mitigation in near-infrared and mid-infrared silicon Raman lasers

  The project funding will be used to purchase two instruments namely a mid-infrared spectrometer and a thermographic camera.

• Microphotonic components and nano-optical structures for the generation and harnessing of light.
