Development of miniaturized biophotonic devices for the analysis of cells in their environment

Research in this field often cites a technical target for enhancement whilst losing site of application breadth. Multi-functionality, adaptability, real time ability and economy are the significant questions. In terms of economy, it`s unthinkable to replace a hi-tech instrument when it`s no longer working at optimal efficiency. It can also be unthinkable to deploy multiple devices. It is the primary aim of this work to develop economic biophotonic technologies for microbial analysis to be applied at points of care and at multiple locations for regions of care.
