B-PHOT prominently featured in success stories from Tech Transfer Offices Flanders
TTO Flanders, a joint initiative of the technology transfer offices between Vrije Universiteit Brussel, KU Leuven, Ghent University, the University of Antwerp, and Hasselt University, has launched a new brochure filled with success stories of innovations that improve society. B-PHOT and Photonics are prominently featured in a list of 25 recent examples of what research valorisation can look like in the areas of ‘Food & Agriculture’, ‘Health’, ‘Energy & Sustainability’, ‘Digitalisation & Technology’ and ‘Society’.
TTO Flanders: "Making a world of difference with the excellent research that takes place at the five Flemish universities. That is what we as technology transfer offices want to achieve, by contributing to the transfer of knowledge and technology from university to society. The cases stem from project-based or structural partnerships between universities and industry, from research commissioned by industry and governments, or from a transfer of research results via licenses and spin-offs. An infographic at the end of the brochure sums up several key facts and figures on successful tech transfer in Flanders." The brochure is available in both English and Dutch on the website of VUB TechTransfer.
'Photonics technology and innovation expertise more accessible thanks to knowledge platform'
"Photonics, or the science and technology of light, plays a crucial role in the challenges we face as a society. However, many companies, and especially SMEs, consider innovations that use this technology too expensive. That is why the European knowledge platform PhotonHub Europe brings together 56 partner and research institutions to assist companies with photonics expertise and technology. PhotonHub is coordinated by the B-PHOT research and innovation team of VUB."
