Back to networking at the Interreg and EFRO events
With different kinds of events returning to the scene, we had a busy month at B-PHOT. With the EFRO and Interreg launch events in Flanders, our team was present at two big fairs in September.
EFRO Launch Event (VLAIO)
Promoting the connection between the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF or EFRO), B-PHOT and PhotonHub Europe. The launch event 2021-2027 in Ghent was organised by VLAIO. The European Regional Development Fund aims to strengthen economic, social and territorial cohesion in the European Union by correcting imbalances between its regions. In 2021-2027 it will enable investments in a smarter, greener, more connected and more social Europe that is closer to its citizens.
Interreg Vlaanderen-Nederland Go Live Event
Presenting the photonics pilot line with TU Eindhoven at the Interreg Vlaanderen-Nederland Go Live Event in Genk. This was a great moment to introduce the innovation opportunities with VUB, B-PHOT and PhotonHub Europe in Belgium and the Netherlands. In the Interreg project, Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) and TU Eindhoven (TU/e) joined forces by expanding and synergistically combining their unique expertise and research infrastructure for freeform optics (VUB) and photonic integrated chips (TU/e), with the aim of setting up a state-of-the-art one-stop-shop photonics technology platform for innovating companies from Flanders, The Netherlands and the rest of Europe.
