Flanders and Brussels explore the world of photonics: B-PHOT opens lab doors for FTI festival


In a dazzling celebration of technological advancement, B-PHOT Brussels Photonics, in collaboration with Flanders Technology and Innovation (FTI), welcomed enthusiasts of all ages to explore the cutting-edge world of photonics during the Open Labs Days.

Marking the 10th anniversary of the Photonics Innovation Center, the event kicked off last weekend in Gooik, drawing attention from across Flanders and Brussels. As part of FTI Brussels, the premier tech fair in the region, B-PHOT opened its laboratory doors to over 600 eager participants, spanning professionals, families, and curious minds alike.

Three enlightening days of FTI Brussel showcased the transformative power of photonics in shaping our society. From captivating demonstrations to hands-on STEAM activities tailored for children and young adults, the event ignited imaginations and sparked a passion for technology at the Photonics Campus.

On the inaugural day, March 15th, professionals convened for an exclusive B2B Day, delving into the collaborative innovations between B-PHOT and leading companies. Attendees witnessed firsthand the prowess of photonics through live demonstrations and explored the sophisticated manufacturing pilot line, paving the way for future partnerships and breakthroughs. During the B2C days on Saturday and Sunday, the broad public received a warm welcome into the world of photonics, discovering the limitless possibilities of light in their own environment.
