Hamamatsu Applied Photonics Innovation Chair
Mission Statement
Photonics is the science and technology of harnessing light. As one of the present-day Key Digital Technologies photonics is essential to the functioning of new applications which are critical to our ability to fundamentally address the enormous global societal and environmental challenges of our times. Photonics technologies are being used to create and launch a myriad of superior and previously unimaginable products in wide-ranging end-user industries from sustainable energy and food safety, to digital health and security, to smart transport, building and communications systems.
With this chair Hamamatsu Photonics wants to support the ongoing photonics innovation activities at VUB B-PHOT. The chair is the ideal vehicle to intensify mutual contacts between Hamamatsu Photonics experts and B-PHOT researchers, to exchange information on the latest research breakthroughs in the domain of photonics and their potential applications, and to explore the opportunities of a durable collaboration between the two partners Hamamatsu Photonics and B-PHOT on topics of mutual interest.
