PhotonHub Europe webinar series #Photonpreneurs 3 on 24th November

17-11-2021

On Wednesday 24th November, Antti Sunnari, CEO of Dispelix, will share his experience at the helm of the company in episode 3 of our monthly webinar series focused on investment readiness in photonics.

The Augmented Reality (AR) market is booming. The global AR market size is expected to expand at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 43.8% from 2021 until 2028. The growing popularity of immersive experiences means that demand for smartphones, smart glasses, and other wearable devices is soaring. However, this high demand is also matched with steep competition, and it’s of no real surprise that tech giants Google and Facebook have also entered the market in a big way.

"When you’re playing with the big players, you need to come armed with the right tools."

Having just locked a series B round of funding for Dispelix, Antti Sunnari has kindly accepted to be our guest speaker for episode 3 of #Photonpreneurs, a free online webinar that will be held on Wednesday 24th November at 17:00-18:00 CET. Free tickets are available at this link. Antti will share the ins and outs of running a deeptech company and raising capital to contend in a booming and highly competitive market. Attendees will also be able to ask their questions to Antti during the webinar. Tune in and find out:

  • How to raise your next funding round?
  • When is the right time to look for capital?
  • What options does one have?
  • What are the do’s and don’ts of raising capital?

Dispelix believes that the future of AR will change the way that we see the world and each other; expanding human vision and ability, connecting people across boundaries. The company produces the world's first truly mass manufacturable diffractive waveguide displays. A waveguide is a thin (about 1mm), transparent element that takes in a projected image and relays it to the eye.

Dispelix is a designer and fabless manufacturer of the world’s first truly mass manufacturable diffractive waveguide displays. The company designs, sells, and supplies DPX branded waveguide displays and to product owners and their suppliers. Dispelix design customised waveguide displays and license our intellectual property to selected customers that develop game-changing products for mainstream AR markets.

#Photonpreneurs is a new webinar series focusing on investment readiness in the world of photonics. The series encourages entrepreneurs to present their entrepreneurial experience and funding journey, including how their project came together and different types of funding raised (such as grant, debt, or equity) in a "how we did it" webinar format.
