Tigran Baghdasaryan

Professor

Tigran Baghdasaryan was born in Yerevan, Armenia in 1986. He received bachelor diploma in 2007 from the Yerevan State University (YSU), Armenia, in physics with a major in optics. In the same year he received Presidential Annual IT Award 2007 as a best bachelor student of YSU (sponsored by "Synopsys Armenia" and "Hayastan" All-Armenian Fund). In 2010 he graduated from the Erasmus Mundus Master in Photonics program with great distinction after spending a yearn in KTH (Sweden), and another year in VUB (Belgium).

Since September 2010, he has been working towards the Ph.D. degree at Brussels Photonics Team B-PHOT (VUB). His research is focused on theoretical and experimental work for the efficient femtosecond fiber Bragg grating inscription in Photonic Crystal Fibers for various applications. He authored and co-authored 4 SCI-indexed journal papers, 8 publications in international conference proceedings and is co-author of a patent application. He gave invited talk at Micro-structured and Specialty Optical Fibres conference at SPIE Photonics Europe 2012. He is a member of SPIE. Since 2022, he is a Professor at B-PHOT.
