B-PHOT's Master and PhD students celebrate graduation on Brussels' Grand Place

Celebration time for the graduates of the Master of Science in Photonics Engineering! Vrije Universiteit Brussel organised a wonderful Graduation Ceremony on the Grand Place in Brussels. Also, three of B-PHOT's PhD students were celebrated for their successful thesis defence in the past academic year.

Since 2020, VUB has had a new tradition of celebrating the graduates during a ceremony in the magical setting of the Grand Place in Brussels. On the balcony of Brussels' City Hall, all graduating students receive their degrees and get their picture for the history books with Faculty of Engineering Dean Prof. Francis Berghmans. A group picture with their professors and colleagues was the perfect way to conclude the adventure of the master students of our Photonics Engineering programme. B-PHOT wishes them all good luck in their future careers!

Next to that, three of our PhD students joined the celebration. Alejandro Madrid Sanchez, Sergei Mikhailov and Artem Shcheglov successfully defended their PhD thesis in 2023. Congratulations!
