Hamamatsu Photonics Chairman Akira Hiruma honored as VUB Fellow

Akira Hiruma, chairman of the Board of Directors of Hamamatsu Photonics, has been honored as a VUB Fellow by Vrije Universiteit Brussel. Mr Hiruma was recognised for his valuable contributions to the photonics innovation activities at B-PHOT Brussels Photonics and VUB's global reach.

As a driving force behind the Hamamatsu Applied Photonics Innovation Chair, Akira Hiruma has been of great support to B-PHOT's innovation activities. Thanks to his expansive network in Japan, VUB has strengthened its ties with Japanese industry leaders and esteemed universities.

Akira Hiruma was awarded the VUB Fellowship during the Entr'Acte ceremony by VUB Crosstalks, in honor of Prof. Hugo Thienpont and his Prize for Societal Valorization.
