Martin Skënderas successfully defends PhD research on Nonlinear Dynamics of Laser Diodes

Martin Skënderas has successfully defended his PhD on 'Nonlinear Dynamics of Laser Diodes for Optical Fiber Sensing' in a public session on October 26th 2023. Martin started his PhD at B-PHOT in 2019 after graduating from the European Master of Science in Photonics at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel.

Under the supervision of Prof. Martin Virte and Dr. Spencer Jolly, he worked on nonlinear dynamics in semiconductor lasers on InP chips and fiber Bragg grating (FBG) sensing.

"From a Master's in Photonics to a PhD journey, this defence of my thesis marked a successful adventure", says Martin. "Heartfelt thanks to my incredible research group for their unwavering support. I am thrilled to join the Optoelectronics Research Centre at the University of Southampton as a postdoctoral fellow."
