Hamamatsu, PhotonHub and B-PHOT team up for new Pilot Lines service for advanced module solution

25-04-2024

B-PHOT Brussels Photonics, in collaboration with Hamamatsu Photonics and PhotonHub Europe, proudly unveils a brand-new initiative: Pilot Lines for advanced module solutions. This innovative service is designed to propel photonics innovations from concept to market-ready products, revolutionizing the industry landscape.

The collaboration between B-PHOT and Hamamatsu aims to establish a robust and enduring relationship focused on advancing photonics innovation. By leveraging Prof.Hugo Thienpont's photonics research team at VUB, and Hamamatsu Photonics' industry experience, both entities are committed to exploring new avenues for supporting companies in various stages of photonics development.

Key areas of collaboration include providing support to companies in photonics feasibility studies, proof-of-concept demonstrations, prototyping, and quality control. Additionally, the partnership will explore the development of photonic modules and subsystems to enhance Hamamatsu Photonics' product portfolio.

Furthermore, the alliance will extend its reach to European companies through PhotonHub Europe, facilitating collaborative efforts with partner research institutes across Europe. An exciting outcome of this partnership is the introduction of ‘Pilot Lines’, a new service aimed at bridging the gap between conceptualization and market-ready photonics products. Pilot Lines, led by Hamamatsu Photonics and PhotonHub Europe, will facilitate the seamless transition of photonics-based technologies from early-stage development to commercialization.

Pilot Lines will be officially introduced at the upcoming Technology Days event, offering attendees an exclusive opportunity to delve into the realm of advanced photonics solutions. Esteemed speakers including Prof. Hugo Thienpont (VUB), Susan Brindley (PhotonHub), Dr. Jan Watté (PhotonHub), Ir. Nathalie Debaes (VUB), and Peter Doyle (PhotonHub) will share their expertise, providing invaluable insights into the potential of Pilot Lines to transform businesses.

By bridging the gap between early-stage development and commercialization, Pilot Lines empowers entrepreneurs and innovators to realize their vision and thrive in the competitive photonics market. Attendees will gain firsthand knowledge of how this service can streamline their journey from ideation to product launch, maximizing efficiency and minimizing time to market.
