Tsuyoshi Shimada

Tsuyoshi Shimada is a PhD researcher in the B-PHOT group at Vrije Universiteit Brussel. Under the supervision of Profs. Heidi Ottevaere and Tigran Baghdasaryan, and Dr. Liu, he is developing novel lab-on-fibre devices using two-photon polymerisation-based 3D nanoprinting and integrated sensing. Tsuyoshi earned both his Bachelor's (2023) and Master's (2025) degrees in Mechanical Engineering from RWTH Aachen University. Beyond his research, he loves climbing, bouldering, and spending time outdoors. He’s also passionate about hands-on engineering projects like CNC machining, 3D printing, and woodworking.
